Bobby has a secret
That he never wants to tell
Bobby tries to hide it
Like a wish down in a well
But what Bobby doesn’t seem to understand
Is that he’s not alone
Oh, if Bobby only knew
He’s really already home
Lord, if you see Bobby
Tell him we miss him so
Lord, if you see Bobby
Please won’t you let him know
And we wish we had him back again
Never again to go
If only we could turn back time
And ever keep him home
Oh, we miss you Bobby
We’re sorry to let you go
Take care, won’t you Bobby
We hope you found your home
And we wish we had you back again
Never again to go
If only we could turn back time
And make you feel at home

Why Must I Work?
(From my up and coming broadway hit. It’s sure to be a winner!)
Why must I work
Why can’t I shirk
And just be a fun-loving bum?
Why can’t I stay
At home and just lay
Around watching TV and to play?
(chorus)
I’m floating along my own lonely path
With currents adrifting
And I’ve certainly not done the math
I’m tired of meeting
Other people’s heeding
While watching my life slip away
There’s no use in feeding
My love for misdeeding
If someone else always has the say
(chorus)
I’m floating along my own lonely path
With currents adrifting
And I’ve certainly not done the math
Aren’t there enough
people in the rough
That I could just have my own way?
Can’t someone else fulfill
The payment for the bill
So I can enjoy the fruits of the day?
(bridge)
So here’s what I’ll do
I’ll just leave it to you
To support me in my leisure
In return for the pleasure
And the love beyond measure
I’m sure to send your way!
(chorus)
I’m floating along my own lonely path
With currents adrifting
And I’ve certainly not done the math

Another Sad Song
Words fly out
Scattered to the winds
Blown about by tempests and the storm
Meanings lost about
Misunderstanding never ends
And I wonder, will I ever again feel warm
(chorus)
But it makes for a sad song
Though perhaps a bit too long
I wish I knew what I was doing wrong
Feelings spin around
Dreams all undone
Broken to little pieces, falling to the ground
Tears fall down
Unnoticed by anyone
Perhaps a broken heart makes no sound
(chorus)
But it makes for a sad song
And I wish I knew what I was doing wrong
But I’ve done my best
And for the rest
It’s already been said and done

If I Had a Quarter
If I had a quarter
For every time a girl
Brushed me off
Or cold-shouldered me
I could buy
A brand new CD
If I had a dollar
For every time my heart
Pined for a cutie
I could never win
I could retire
And never work again
Being a man and getting old
Sure ain’t what it used to be
This time in my life, sometimes
It’s not a place I want to see

Come and Stay
One by one
The twinkling stars appear
And the moon bares its face
As night comes my way
Comes my way
I pull my jacket closer
And hold your hand tight
And sigh away the day
As we walk into the night
Into the night
(chorus)
The saddest days are gone
The future’s on its way
The coolest time is now
If only
If only I could stay
