Ten years together
A short but winding path
Through terrain that varies
With ups and downs
And turn-me-all-arounds
Sprinkled with flowers
Along the way
With blossoms of beauty
We stop to admire
And aromas sweet and pure
That fill our hearts with joy
Creating memories that linger
And tingle
As we also
Pause elsewhere
To consider fretfully
The weeds that intrude
Uninvited but enevitable
Along our chosen way
But
One by one
Most determinedly
We dig and pull
Despite the thorny hurts
To build our dream
And make our vision real
This itself stands true
The hard work
Tempered with leisure
Make all the more precious
All the more our own
This garden path we’ve built
And are building
Together
