The Best Time of Any Day

How sweet the comforting presence
A warm and calming friend
A pure and loving essence
His peace my heart to mend
As my lips whisper my feelings dear
And my heart reaches to the sky
To touch my loving Parent there
Who knows all the reasons why
His ear always inclined to hear
Whatever thing I would express
As he listens patiently near
Ever eager to love and to bless
Me in my hour of hurt or fear
Always ready to show a better way
Or to wipe away a silent tear
Yes, prayer is the best time of any day
